Petai / Bitter Bean
Bitter bean also locally called as Petai. Petai is very common in Malaysian cuisine. We eat it RAW as ulam or even stir-fried with beans. It has been used as a traditional medicinal food in our community.

It’s scientific name is Centella asiatica. This medicinal herb is from my mom’s garden. It may help reduce anxiety, stress and for insomnia according to some research.
It may act as an antidepressant according to some studies on animals( not proven yet on human)
Recommended to take this herb twice a week to promote our general health.
