Steamed Broccoli with Raw Tomatoes and Walnut

Broccoli is high in sulforaphane which is an anti cancer compound which we need to have on our diet. Steaming makes it a wonderful food to enjoy the food at the same time more nutritiously available for our body to be absorbed. Cooking with water will leach out the nutrients and destroy the vitamins and other properties. Please include the stalk and the leaves which are high in Vitamin A,E and K.Thyme is an excellent source antioxidant.

Ingredients

1 stalk broccoli ( cut into pieces)

2 small red tomatoes

1/4 cup soaked walnut ( chopped )

1 tbsp of sesame seeds

1 tsp of nutritional yeast

1 tbsp grounded chia/flaxseeds

2 tsp of  fresh thyme

Method

Steam the broccoli for max 3 mins, Add the broccoli on the strainer only when the water is boiling.

Remove the Broccoli from the stove after 3 minutes.

Cut the tomatoes and mix all the rest of the with the steamed broccoli and enjoy .

If you need it as a complete meal just add 1 cup of cooked quinoa, millet or rice.
