Kampung Style Sprouted Petai

This medicinal bean – Petai is common in Malaysia. It stinks a bit but it’s a good source of antioxidant and antibacterial food for our general health. Sprouted Petai can be a great added value for activating the nutrients in the beans.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sprouted Petai
  • 1/2 cup sliced onion
  • 1/2  fresh red chili ( crushed)
  • 1 tsp lemon
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • Salt ( optional)

Method

  1. Add sliced onion and crushed fresh Chili  with water in a pan on the stove and stir it for 2 minutes.
  2. Add the sprouted Petai  and stir for a minute.
  3. Bring out from the pan add the lemon and salt accordingly and serve with rice.
  4. Do not over cook the Petai because the nutrients will be lost.
